Jelle Klaas, litigation director of the NJCM and human rights lawyer of the PILP, has been interviewed about the new policy on travellers’ camps on Radio 1 in the programme ‘Nieuws en Co’. The interview was prompted by travellers occupying land in different places in the country. Now that the new policy framework has been adopted, they decided to take action in order to speed up the process of being appointed caravan sites.
Following an excellent report on an occupation in Drachtstercompagnie, Friesland, Klaas explains what the new policy framework entails and what municipalities should do to implement it in practice.
